Gyrus Capital Expands team to meet market Opportunity

London, March 30th, 2021 – Gyrus Capital announces additions to its executive team

  • ­Christian Wipf (from GCA Altium Switzerland) and Mattias Terribilini (from Rothschild & Co Healthcare advisory) to join executive team

  • Carlo Vanoli to join Operating and Advisory Partnership

 Gyrus Capital, the Swiss based investment firm focussed on healthcare and sustainability, is to add to its executive team and OAP resource to address growing opportunities, particularly for corporate carve outs in its focus sectors – healthcare and sustainability.  The firm has seen increasing opportunities, especially from corporate carve outs, in its €50 to 500 million segment as multinationals refocus post Covid.

Christian Wipf

Christian Wipf joins as a partner.  Christian has more than 30 years’ experience in M&A specialising on industrials, healthcare, technology and software with GCA Altium where he was part of the original founding team, most recently as Senior Advisor, Chairman and Board Member of GCA Altium (Switzerland).  He was also a member of Gyrus’s Operating and Advisory Partnership having worked with Guy Semmens on numerous transactions over more than 20 years.  He brings a wealth of experience and will allow Gyrus to leverage its carve out experience and add bandwidth to the firm’s sourcing and execution capability.  Christian is a graduate of the University of St Gallen and Johns Hopkins.

 

Mattias Terribilini

Mattias Terribilini joins as an associate from Rothschild & Co’s healthcare team in London.  Mattias grew up in Switzerland and has a bachelors from Bocconi in Milan and a masters from Esade business school in Barcelona. His healthcare knowledge and experience are complimentary to Gyrus’ focus sectors will add to the firm’s ability to address its growing pipeline of opportunities.

 

Carlo Vanoli

Carlo Vanoli joins the Gyrus Operating and Advisory Partnership.  Carlo is a chemical engineer and a McKinsey alumnus. He was SVP corporate development in Snia (part of the Fiat Group), making its MedTech BU a world leader in cardiovascular devices, ultimately as Sorin’s CEO.  Carlo co-led the acquisition of Bellco (Renal Care) with Mirco Dilda in 2008, which was one of Mirco’s most successful investments while at Argos Soditic. Carlo is a board director of Corcym, Gyrus’s carve out of the Heart Valve business unit from LivaNova.
