Gyrus Capital backed DuPont Sustainable Solutions Acquires Sofies Group
Acquisition Gives DSS Expanded Capabilities and Sustainability Expertise Unique in the Market
GENEVA, Switzerland, 6 October 2021 – Gyrus Capital backed DuPont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) announced today that Sofies Group, a leading global sustainability project management and consulting firm will join DSS. With this acquisition, which was effective 1 October, DSS adds to its offerings new intellectual property (IP), methodologies, tools, and capabilities in sustainability management. Combining this with DSS’ operations heritage and expertise in operations risk, capability development, data analytics and digital technology enables DSS to now provide an integrated, transformational solution to clients to develop and implement their sustainability goals and aspirations.
“At DSS we believe that managing risks and improving operations are fundamentally linked to sustainability and societal impact,” said Davide Vassallo, Chief Executive Officer of DuPont Sustainable Solutions. “Our acquisition of Sofies Group enables DSS to provide its clients with deeper insights, strategy expertise and integrated capabilities to develop and implement their sustainability plans so they can successfully protect people, improve operations and create a sustainable future.”
Sofies Group is one of the leading brands in sustainability consulting, recognized for their strong focus on action and implementation. They collaborate with public and private organizations to integrate sustainability into their governance and operational framework, helping them to achieve their sustainability goals and maximize their impact on society. This acquisition brings to DSS a senior team of consultants possessing experience in more than 250 ESG consulting projects.
“DSS is a world class leader in creating safer workplaces, mitigating risk and achieving operational excellence,” said David Rochat, CEO of Sofies Group. “We look forward to joining DSS to help its clients to develop and implement actionable sustainability strategies that deliver value and have a positive impact on the communities in which they operate, and, ultimately, the wider global community.”
This transaction follows another acquisition by DSS in July of 2021 – that of KKS Advisors, a global leader in the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) space with particular expertise in financing and investment. “We are investing in our capabilities around ESG and sustainability so that we can support clients from investment decisions and strategy development to execution and reporting” says Vassallo.
Sofies Group’s diverse global team of senior, experienced consultants are located in Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland, London, England and Bangalore, India. With the addition of Sofies consultants, DSS will have more than 1000 full-service employees and experts serving its global clients. Sofies employees will continue to be based in their current locations.
